Lemuel Steed was hitchhiking on Montgomery Bridge and a Local Pharmacist "Dr. McClung" picked him up. Steed upducted the pharmacist and shot and killed him on Cannelton Hollow Rd. near Montgomery, WV. Murder was commited for the money that McClung had on him. Steed was apprehended in Charleston, WV.
